ZECHARIA
SITCHIN
Zecharia Sitchin
published seven books on the Interventionist theory between 1976-1996,
the culmination of more than thirty years research. Sitchin
left few stones unturned, and achieved a virtual monopoly in the study
of the gods as real, historical, flesh-and-blood beings. Consequently,
his overwhelming evidence has been largely ignored by other writers
who find it difficult to add anything to his theory.
Fans of Zecharia Sitchin will find Gods of the New Millennium to
be essential reading, since it offers an unprecedented critique
of his theory. Whilst broadly agreeing with Sitchin's overall argument,
Alan Alford challenges several fundamental aspects of his theories,
and puts forward many new ideas. Sitchin fans will be particularly
interested in the following areas where new or additional information
is provided:
- the positive identification of Yahweh as a flesh-and-blood god.
Alford states that: "Sitchin's analysis of this in his latest
book was a real cop-out; if we place the event in its proper historical
context, there is no doubt at all that Yahweh was the Sumerian
god Ishkur, also known as the Storm God".
- proof that Zecharia Sitchin's chronology is based on an incorrect
period for the ancient "sar". Only Alan Alford's alternative
"sar" can reconcile the chronology of the gods to the
Biblical life spans of the patriarchs, the Sumerian Kings Lists
and Manetho's history of the Egyptian gods.
- a new theory on the gods' apparent immortality, based on the
latest discoveries from genetic science.
- a new theory on human racial origins.
- a new theory on the Great Pyramid's functionality.
- the first ever theory which can explain all of the Nazca Lines
markings, at the same time providing a solution to the mystery
of Easter Island.
- a new theory on Machu Picchu as a star-clock, supported by a
detailed explanation of how the gods' star-clock actually worked.
- a new theory on the significance of ancient Petra.
- a historical basis for the "giants" of the Bible and
other ancient myths - a subject not covered by Sitchin.
- an important modification to Sitchin's theory on how Nibiru
caused the Flood.
- updated information on Giza's chronology, Stonehenge's chronology
and on the search for Planet X.
- additional evidence to support Sitchin's claim that nuclear
weapons were used in the Sinai peninsula.
- a detailed review of the gods' activities in the period 2000-200
BC, with a full discussion of the possible dates for the gods'
imminent return.
- a study of the ancient gods as the source of modern-day religious
symbolism.
Finally, in contrast to Zecharia Sitchin, Alan Alford provides
a fully referenced work (the Notes and Bibliography amounting to
42 pages), thus opening up the subject of the gods for further detailed
research by other interested parties.
Note: Alan Alford wishes to emphasise that he no longer agrees with
everything that he wrote in Gods of the New Millennium.
