On Hamlet's Mill 'In my view, some modern writers have placed far
too much store in the book 'Hamlet's Mill' by de Santillana and von Dechend. In my opinion, 'Hamlet's Mill' is a marvellous investigative work, but it does not demonstrate precessional symbolism to the extent that many
suppose it does.' (www.eridu.co.uk 'Ancient Astronauts', March 2000)'Bauval and Hancock's approach seems to be inspired by the book 'Hamlet's Mill', which is obsessed with the idea that the precessional movement
of the stars is the key to ancient mythology. But in my new book, 'The Phoenix Solution', I have effectively challenged 'Hamlet's Mill' with an entirely different approach to mythology. I think Michael Rice makes this
point very eloquently in the Foreword to my book. So perhaps it's time for a rethink. The stars were important, but perhaps not in the way most people imagine them to be.'
